- SK continues to create more jobs by providing internships linked to permanent employment
SK Chemical disclosed on April 18 that it has been selected by the Ministry of Employment and Labor Affairs as one of the ‘Top 100 Job Creating Enterprises’ for its contribution to job creation.
The ‘Top 100 Job Creating Enterprises’ is an employment index by which enterprises in each industry have been recognized for their creation of new jobs since 2011. The 100 best enterprises were selected by the Ministry from among 500 finalists (out of 17,000 enterprises) whose employment increased this year, reflecting their number of employees and ratio of new employee by 50%, respectively.
SK chemicals has been evaluated as having contributed to employment growth by hiring over 300 new employees last year and exceeded its target employment rate by 4.9% over the preceding year. The company explained that it had hired more new employees upon launching certain new business lines.
Thanks to its selection as one of the best job creators, SK chemicals will be granted a range of benefits, including △exemption from a periodic review of corporate tax filings by the central government, △exemption from labor affairs supervision, and △preferred treatment in small-business credit rating and interest rates, and limits on government loans.
SK chemicals plans to continue its efforts to create more jobs of better quality on the occasion of the current award.
“It is part of our corporate social responsibility to create more jobs in a bid to alleviate youth unemployment,” said a company executive. “We will continue our efforts to provide more jobs through close cooperation with academia and local communities while expanding the internship program and its links to permanent employment, which we started last year.”
