SK Chemical (Representative Hong Ji-ho) said that it held an opening ceremony on the 8th in its US$3.2 million-injected chemical fabric plant 'SKYFLEX' stationed in Qingdao, China.The 10,000-pyong Qingdao Plant, a high-tech facility that boasts the production line of 1,500,000m² annual output, has launched a full-scale operation on this day. SKYFLEX is a composite material composed of carbon fiber and epoxy resin, and is distinguished by its physical characteristics of being lighter than aluminum and stronger than steel.For the past 10 years, SK chemicals has been supplying high-quality raw materials for fishing rods and golf clubs in the sports & leisure industry both at home and abroad.SK chemicals expects to accomplish US$1.5 million in sales within the first business year by selling its products in the Chinese market and exporting out to other countries."The opening of SKYFLEX Qingdao Plant is especially meaningful in having secured the bridgehead on which to expand the market share in China, and grow to be the world's biggest manufacturer," a staff of SK chemicals said.SK chemicals now has two overseas plants following after the one in Indonesia.
