Materiality Assessment Process

As a policy, the needs of stakeholders are identified through a survey in the first quarter of every year. The survey consists of simple materiality survey questions and expert group strategic/financial impact questions.

  • STEP 01.

    Organization of an issue poll

    Global ESG Assessment Analysis
    MSCI, DJSI, CDP, KCGS
    ESG Standard Analysis
    GRI Standards, SASB, TCFD, KRX, UN SDGs, etc.
    SK chemicals' own issue pool analysis
    Data analysis (internal data, business report, management strategy system, investment report, etc.), SV feedback analysis (SV major issues and status, SV risk review)
  • STEP 02.

    Review issues and form topics

    Global ESG Assessment Analysis and ESG Standards/Guide Analysis
    Form 18 topics based on GRI standards
    SK chemicals' own issue pool analysis
    Form 6 to 8 topics
    Sort the above topics and select 20 materiality topics (excluding duplicate issues)
  • STEP 03.

    Stakeholder and business influence analysis

    Influence of stakeholders
    7-point scale survey on 20 topics
    Business Impact on SK chemicals
    Assessment by an expert group Strategic Relevance/Financial Relevance Survey
  • STEP 04.

    Selection of priorities and areas to focus efforts on

    Prioritize the final critical issues
    Stakeholder group interest evaluation
    Strategic/financial impact assessment of executives and expert groups
