Dosage and administration

  • This drug should not be used for prophylactically migraine.
    If a patient does not respond to the first dose of frovatriptan, a second dose should not be taken for the same attack.

    • 1. Adults (18-65 years of age)
      The recommended dose of this drug is 2.5 mg of frovatriptan (1 tablet).
      If the migraine recurs after initial relief, a second dose may be taken, providing there is an interval of at least 2 hours between the two doses. The total daily dose should not exceed 2 tablets of 5 mg.

    • 2. Patients with renal impairment
      No dose adjustment is required in patients with renal impairment.

    • 3. Patients with hepatic impairment
      No dose adjustment is required in patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment. This drug is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment (See 1. Contraindications in Warnings and precautions).
