Indication(s)·Usage
    • 1. Seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis (rhinitis), allergic conjunctivitis, chronic idiopathic (unknown cause) urticaria, pruritus cutaneous (pruritus)
    • 2. Eczema, dermatitis caused by combination therapy with topical hydrocortisone

Dosage and administration

    • 1. Adults and pediatric use 6 years and older
      Orally administer cetirizine dihydrochloride 10 mg once daily before bedtime.
    • 2. In patients with sensitive adverse reactions, it should be taken in 5 mg divided doses in the morning and evening.
    • 3. The dose may be adjusted depending on the patient’s age and symptoms.
    • 4. Patients with moderate to severe (severe symptoms) renal impairment (kidney impairment): An adjustment of the dose intervals is needed by the patient’s renal function. Dose adjustments is necessary based on following figures. To use this dosing table, an estimate of the patient's creatinine clearance (CLcr) in ml/min is needed.
    • The CLcr (mL/min) may be estimated from serum creatinine (mg/dL) determination using the following formula:

      CLcr[140-age (years)] x weight (kg)(for female x 0.85)
      72 x serum creatinine (mg/dL)


      Dosing adjustments for adult patients with impaired renal function

      In pediatric patients with renal impairment, the dose will have to be adjusted on an individual basis taking into account the renal clearance of the patient, the age and body weight.
