- Bold push for SKYCellflu Quadrivalent through agreement with JW Shinyak
SK chemicals (Man-hun Park, President) announced on the 12th of this month that a joint marketing agreement had been signed with JW Shinyak for the cell-culture influenza vaccine SKYCellflu Quadrivalent.
With this agreement, SK chemicals and JW Shinyak will conduct sales and marketing activities for SKYCellflu Quadrivalent at hospitals and specialized clinics (dermatology, urology, plastic surgery, etc.), respectively, beginning this autumn.
JW Shinyak plans to contribute toward expanding the domestic influenza vaccine market and improving ease-of-vaccination in their existing specialized clinic market through their firmly-established sales and marketing infrastructure.
The next-generation SKYCellflu Quadrivalent, developed by SK chemicals, is the world`s first cell-culture quadrivalent influenza vaccine that protects against four strains of influenza viruses with just a single vaccination. Unlike traditional egg-based vaccines, it is produced via a sterile incubator using a cell-culture technique and characterized by its antibiotic- and preservative-free quality.
"We will maintain a steady supply of SK chemicals` superior vaccine through this co-marketing agreement," said Seung-ho Baek, Vice President of JW Shinyak. He added, "Expect a synergistic effect in the clinic market, which has a very high growth potential."
Kwang-hyeon Jeon, Head of the SK chemicals LS Business Marketing Division, stated, "SKYCellflu proved its potential with the sale of 3.6 million doses in the first year of its introduction. This year, we expect even greater results through improved technologies and various outlets for vaccination."
SKYCellflu Quadrivalent will be available for vaccination this fall for all patients three years of age and older.
