● SK chemicals, Haemin Sunim Hold 'Healing' Seminar
- SK chemicals employees amass to listen to Korea's Healer Mentor- Opportunity to soothe the modern mind and learn to love oneself
Venerable Haemin visited SK chemicals for a very special seminar.
SK chemicals recently announced that Haemin Sunim (lit. Buddhist monk Haemin; Eng.: Ryan Bongsuk Joo) was invited earlier this month to give a humanities lecture and communicate with employees. Ven. Haemin had previously given a lecture for SK chemicals titled "Happiness, Forgiveness, and Love" in 2012.
Ven. Haemin, known colloquially as "Korea's Healer Mentor," had been studying religion in the U.S. and has returned to Korea to share his message with the populace. He is the bestselling author of A Love Toward The Things That Are Not Perfect and The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down. Currently, he is the headmaster of Maum Healing School in Seoul and even has a strong Twitter presence with more than 2.5 million followers.
The seminar, held at Geurium Hall, was in a unique conversational format in which SK chemicals employees and executives were allowed to share their thoughts and questions based on topics featured in Ven. Haemin's most recent book, A Love Toward The Things That Are Not Perfect. The participants were comforted by Ven. Haemin's message of healing through the love and acceptance of themselves and others in an imperfect world full of obstacles.
"I appreciated this opportunity to listen to Haemin Sunim speak in person. It was a beneficial seminar that taught me to love myself more and shake off the negativity that exists deep in my heart," said an SK chemicals employee who participated in the event.
Geurium (lit. 'yearning'), which is SK chemicals' principal corporate culture program, was established with the relocation of the head office in October 2010 to improve the company's corporate culture through humanities efforts and competence development. The Geurium humanities lectures, already held 162 times starting with the inaugural lecture "Renaissance Creative Management" by Professor Sang-keun Kim, are held monthly, once in the morning along with a repeat lecture in the afternoon.
