● “Warm Winter with Happy Kimchi” Five SK Affiliates in Seongnam Volunteer for ＇Happiness Sharing Season’
Five SK affiliates gave out warm love for neighbors with Happy Kimchi.
SK affiliates in Seongnam area (SK Corp., SK networks, SK chemicals, SK gas and SK planet) together with Seongnam City (Mayor Eun Soo-mi) and Seongnam Social Welfare Council (Chairman Han Kyung-soon), announced on the 18th that they held a ceremony to deliver Happy Kimchi to neighbors in Seongnam area to help them in the coming cold winter.
Happy Kimchi delivery ceremony, which is the SK＇s major winter social contribution activity, will mark its 15th anniversary this year.
A total of 10,000 kg or 5,000 heads of napa cabbage of Happy Kimchi were prepared this year and will be delivered to households in the region through Social Welfare Council of Seongnam City. Happy Kimchi is purchased and supplied by 10 social enterprises.
An official from SK chemicals who attended the ceremony said, “I hope this Happy Kimchi helps our neighbors go through the coming cold winter,” and he added, “In addition to the Happy Kimchi Sharing Event, we plan to launch a variety of social contribution programs with participation from our employees”.
Kim Hak-bong of Seongnam City Welfare Policy Division said, “We appreciate SK＇s sincerity in helping the community for 15 years, not just a one-time event,” and he said, "We will make sure that their sincerity and warmth are well delivered to our neighbors.”
Also, following the delivery of Happy Kimchi, SK plans to hold the annual Happiness Sharing Bazaar in December.
SK chemicals supports more than 160 teenagers through high school through Hope Maker, a youth sponsorship program.SK chemicals is also conducting other social contribution activities with an aim to create a sustainable society through its “eco-friendly,” “social welfare,” and “spreading happiness” programs such as providing free meals, lunch delivery for senior citizens, environmental education at elementary schools, and river clean-up activities, together with 12 local welfare centers nationwide.
