SK chemicals (CEO: Jeon Kwang-hyun) and NAVER (CEO: Choi Soo-yeon) announced that they will support the introduction of eco-friendly plastic materials for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) such as NAVER Smart Store operators and help their partners strengthen their ESG capabilities.
To this end, the two companies held a business agreement ceremony at NAVER 1784 located in Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si on the 13th in the presence of Kim Hyun-seok, head of SK chemicals GC Business Division, and Lim Dong-ah, NAVER's PR/ESG policy leader.

(Left)/(Right) Under this cooperation, NAVER and SK chemicals will use SK chemicals' Sustainable Packaging Solution (SPS) and discover SME operators that wish to switch to eco-friendly products or containers and support mold production and promotion through NAVER shopping for selected partners.
In the process, the two companies plan to contribute to minimizing the waste generated in the process of distribution and consumption of products and further establish an ecosystem where eco-friendly plastic materials can be circulated from production to recycling. SK chemicals and NAVER also plan to cooperate on ESG education programs for SMEs.
SK chemicals' SPS is a key material that connects the plastic circulation ecosystem and consists of materials using renewable raw materials and recyclable materials. This cooperation was promoted through the service of SK chemicals' plastic circulation ecosystem platform "EUUM" (www.e-uum.com). The platform provides product suggestions using SPS, design collaboration services, and trial programs.
Lim Dong-ah, NAVER's PR/ESG policy leader, said, “This cooperation with SK chemicals is meaningful in that we can strengthen the ESG/eco-friendly capabilities of SME operators, which are NAVER's core partners, and contribute to the establishment of an eco-friendly plastics ecosystem through NAVER Shopping.” He added, “We will continue to create an ESG cooperation model with other partners who have contact with NAVER in the future.”
Kim Hyun-seok, head of SK chemicals' GC Business Division, said, “Reducing greenhouse gases and building a circular ecosystem to protect the global environment requires joint efforts from material companies to end-users.” He added, “Together with NAVER, the leading platform company in Korea, and our e-commerce partners, we will strive to expand the use of recycled materials”.
