- Revenue up 24.8% and operating profit up 26.8% year-on-year on a separate basis
- Returns to profit on a consolidated basis with revenue of KRW 745.1 billion and operating profit of KRW 32.3 billion
SK Chemicals announced in a regulatory filing on August 13 that, on a separate (parent-company) basis, it posted revenue of KRW 479.1 billion and operating profit of KRW 31.9 billion in the second quarter.
Revenue rose 24.8% year-on-year, marking the company’s highest quarterly revenue since it was spun off as an operating company in 2017 alongside the launch of SK Discovery. Operating profit also increased 26.8% from the second quarter of last year.
The company attributed the growth in both top line and earnings to balanced performance across all business areas, with the Green Chemicals business driving higher revenue and operating profit on the back of stable demand, and the Pharmaceuticals business sustaining strong sales of its key products.
A representative of SK Chemicals said, “Even amid continued internal and external uncertainty, we are sustaining our growth momentum with a focus on our core businesses. In the second half, we will expand sales centered on high value-added products in the Green Chemicals business, while pursuing an expanded new product pipeline and greater diversification of therapeutic areas in pharmaceuticals.”
Meanwhile, on a consolidated basis including subsidiary SK Bioscience, SK Chemicals returned to profit in the second quarter, posting revenue of KRW 745.1 billion and operating profit of KRW 32.3 billion.
