SK developed the new resin for the second time in the world after Eastman Chemical in the U.S.?With the successful development of PETG, we have established a base to develop high value added, high-tech plastic products,? explained an SK chemicals employee. PETG added with new elements has the special characteristics of having better formability, transparency, printability and recyclability than other plastics.With the recent success, SK chemicals forecasted that its export sales would increase by over 70 billion won annually while enjoying other benefits of export substitution.Yun In-seon, Director of SK chemicals Research Center, also contributed to the triumphant mood of the company by winning the Prime Minister Award.Along with the new polymer, Director Yun has participated in the research activities for post-processing methods and polyester fibers, and was recognized for making great contributions to the development of the fine chemicals industry.His research results include polyester elastomer, polyester adhesive, direct blow PET, high polymerization PBT engineering plastic and PET engineering plastic.In the course of carrying out R&D activities, SK was able to enjoy a total of 34 patents pending in the areas of new materials and polyester fibers.
