edaily, July 15, 2003SK chemicals said on July 14 that it has introduced on the market ?SKYWOOD,? a premium-class flooring material made of bamboo. The move is intended to meet the growing market demand for a superior living environment, with environmentally friendly materials. The company explained that SKYWOOD consists of three types of flooring materials, namely material wood / ondol floor (traditional Korean flooring method), material wood / bamboo tree floor, and reinforced flooring. The new brand comes with various natural colors and designs, including cherry, maple, green and walnut, depending on the available raw materials, all with an environmentally friendly feel. SK chemicals plans to start to sell the products in earnest by exhibiting them at the Kyunghyang Housing Fair, which is being held at COEX on the day. The company will also market them aggressively to consumers through a network that it is building up of over 300 exclusive distributors and sales agencies nationwide. The chemicals maker aims to take up 30% of the market by early next year by promoting the SKYWOOD brand using diverse media, including specialty magazines for architecture, and expanding its distribution network. ?We developed the products by carefully selecting premium-class materials in order to meet the market demand seeking high end products,? said Lee Hyung-wook, leader of SK chemicals? SKY VIVA Team. ?Our products boast of premium quality because we paid special attention to their feel and material quality, as flooring materials are repeatedly contacted by not only eyesight, and but also human body itself.?
