SK Chemical makes use of exhibitions as marketing tool for its eco materials.
SK Chemical (CEO Kim Cheol) announced its participation in the premium packaging exhibition LUXE PACK Shanghai held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center, in China, April 13 to 14.
LUXE PACK is an international exhibition for packaging materials used to store a variety of goods, however, the emphasis is on cosmetic packaging. MChinese and other Asian manufacturers and packaging professionals took part in this year`s exhibition.
SK Chemical plans to introduce bottles for toners and lotions, lids, and other goods made of its eco materials SKYGREEN and ECOGEN while promoting their features and advantages as cosmetic packaging.
SKYGREEN is a high-performance eco PETG, which took center stage in the cosmetic packaging market due to it being free of bisphenol A and yet highly resistant to heat, impact, and chemicals. Its high chemical resistance ensures that the physical and chemical properties of cosmetic ingredients do not change when packagedindefinitely.
Moreover, its transparency makes it a good glass alternative.
Said a spokesperson for SK Chemical, "Glass, with its transparency and luxurious texture, has been widely used as cosmetic packaging, but because it`s difficult to process and fragile, there is an increasing need for an alternative.. SKYGREEN, on the other hand, is lighter and easier to process and yet as transparent as glass. It also has a great texture and is now increasingly used in premium cosmetic packaging."

Before LUXE PACK, SK Chemical participated in Vietnam`s International Plastic & Rubber Exhibition held on April 1 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. SK Chemical exhibited shrink film, airtight containers, home appliance parts, and cosmetic packaging made with ECOGEN and SKYGREEN. About 100 vendors stopped by SK Chemical`s exhibition stand to discuss purchasing its eco materials.
SK Chemical plans to take part in more and more international exhibitions as part of its global marketing mix.
"Unlike large chemical exhibitions, region- and topic-specific exhibitions offer more chances to have in-depth discussion with professionals and local manufacturers, which can boost marketing effectiveness,” said an SK Chemical official. He continued, “SK Chemical will make full use of national and international exhibitions to communicate with more manufacturers engaged in cosmetics, home appliances and food processing."

☞ECOGEN and SKYGREEN are high-performance eco materials developed by SK Chemical.
is copolyester based on bio-monomers extracted from plants, such as corn and wheat. It shares in most of advantages of PC, PMMA, and PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol), yet supplements for their shortcomings. Having transparency and high heat resistance, it is used in industrial materials and home appliances. The high-performance transparent plastic is an eco-PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) whose only current producers are SK Chemical and the United States` Eastman Chemical. PETG is not only environmentally friendly but safe and transparent, and offers great chemical resistance, mechanical properties, and moldability. It has various applications, ranging from high-end cosmetic packaging to food packaging, home appliances, and packaging/industrial films and sheets.
