- Aims to be popular with an addictive melody that contains the message, "It got no eggs” and comic danceSK influenza vaccine, ‘SKYCellflu’ has started to advertise its brand.
SK bioscience (CEO Ahn Jae-yong) announced on the 3rd that it has launched the advertisement for SKYCellflu, an internally developed cell-culture influenza vaccine, under the concept of “It got no eggs.” This is the first time SK bioscience has launched a video ad for SKYCellflu.
The ad promotes the special cell culture-derived influenza vaccine’s features?Korea’s only non-egg based vaccine, ahead of the flu vaccination season. For the one-minute commercial, actress Yoon Se-ah, popular with women in their 20s to 40s through the recent soap opera “Melting Me Softly” and the entertainment show “Three Meals a Day,” was selected as the advertisement model.
In this ad, which will be based on online platforms, such as YouTube, Yoon Se-ah conveys the message “It got no eggs” through addictive melody and dance. Yoon Se-ah performed a funny dance not previously seen on air. To effectively convey the message that it is a cell-culture influenza vaccine that does not use eggs in the production process, a chicken appeared as a model and danced together with Yoon Se-ah.
Through this ad, SK bioscience plans to impress consumers with the difference between influenza vaccines grown in fertilized eggs and influenza vaccines grown by cell-culture.
“We will reproduce the differentiation strategy that was introduced through Ginexin and Trast ads" said Ahn Jae-yong, CEO of SK bioscience. "We plan to further spread the positive perception of the cell-culture derived influenza vaccine through advertisements,” he said.
SKYCellflu is the only cell-culture derived influenza vaccine in South Korea and is produced through a state-of-the-art sterile incubator, requiring no administration of antibiotics or preservatives. In addition, even if you are allergic to eggs, you will be able to receive this vaccine with more peace of mind, and the production time is shorter and more efficient than for existing egg-based vaccines, allowing you to respond quickly to influenza pandemics such as swine flu.
Recently, a series of foreign studies announced that cell-culture derived influenza vaccines provide a higher preventive effect since they are less likely to have virus mutations that can occur in the incubation process in fertile chicken eggs. According to data that analyzed the relative effects of influenza vaccines in the 2017-2018 season by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the cell-cultured quadrivalent influenza vaccines showed an 11% higher preventive effect than quadrivalent egg-based influenza vaccines.
SK bioscience is a new vaccine company that was spun off from SK chemicals in July last year. The company has internally developed vaccines, such as SKYCellflu, the first cell-culture derived trivalent influenza vaccine in Korea, SKYCellflu Quadrivalent, the world's first cell-culture derived quadrivalent influenza vaccine, SKY Zoster, the world's second herpes zoster vaccine, and SKY Varicella, the second varicella vaccine developed in Korea.
