- Memory enhancement benefits communicated with catchphrase, “Ginexin, god of memory”
- Ad hits mainstream as consumers relate to depiction of various daily life situations of forgetfulness
SK chemicals has stepped up its advertising on the benefits of the memory enhancing supplement “Ginexin 240 mg.”
On April 1st, SK chemicals (CEO: Jeon Kwang-hyun) announced the launching of its YouTube ad for “Ginexin-F Tab. 240 mg” (hereinafter referred to as Ginexin) with the catchphrase, “Ginexin, god of memory.” This is SK chemicals’ first ever YouTube ad for Ginexin.
The ad highlights the new high-dose Ginexin 240 mg, newly repurposed to improve memory and concentration. The original, low-dose Ginexin is well-recognized domestically as a circulation enhancer.
The ad’s main slogan delivers a catchy rhyme through the phrase, “Ginexin, god of memory,” which is derived from the first and last characters of the drug’s name (“Gi” being the first character for “ghi-eok,” meaning memory, and “xin” a homophone for god in Korean). The ad’s depiction of various situations of forgetfulness that can commonly occur in daily life is resonating with consumers.
Through this advertisement, SK chemicals is introducing Ginexin, a product formerly known as a circulation enhancer, to consumers as a memory & concentration booster in a high-dose formula—240 mg.
The head of Pharma R&D at SK chemicals Kim Jeong-hoon said, “We possess the know-how from our previous experience acquainting consumers with Ginexin as a circulation enhancer through TV and radio. This time, our plan is to spread awareness of Ginexin 240 mg as a concentration booster through the popular website YouTube.”
The new Ginexin 240 mg’s benefits include improving the symptoms of memory loss, poor concentration, and dizziness. Memory problems and poor concentration are common symptoms that start to appear in persons 50 years and older. Left untreated, there is a high risk of transitioning into a predementia state of mild cognitive impairment, eventually progressing into full-blown dementia, which is a common illness in the elderly. Continuous management of such symptoms is critical.
With this in mind and in consideration of the characteristic need for long-term consistency in administration, similar to how drugs for chronic illnesses are administered, high-dose Ginexin 240 mg was released so that memory loss and poor concentration could be treated conveniently with just a single dose each day.
In addition to releasing the ad on YouTube, SK chemicals also opened a microsite (www.ginexinf.com) with information on Ginexin. The Ginexin microsite contains a variety of information including memory-increasing habits, as well as a quiz to test your memory.
