Green light to SK chemicals? overseas marketing bid for its new cosmetic line.
On the 2nd of this month, SK chemicals announced that Cara, its natural skincare product brand, successfully passed the non-toxicity test recently administered by the US?s Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Cara products, the skincare line released after three years of research under a 2 billion won development program, are formulated with all-natural ingredients including sword bean and 6 other herbal extracts, and are tested to produce virtually no side-effects.
The FDA approval now in hand, SK chemicals is poised to move ahead with overseas marketing initiatives, the company further announced. By entering into partnerships with overseas cosmetics firms and functional skincare product providers, it aims to penetrate the Japanese and European markets, in addition to the US.
?In view of the overseas marketing of Cara, we are currently dealing with issues relating to distribution and technology license,? explains an official from SK chemicals. "Since the FDA approval, we are receiving a tremendous amount of technology-related inquiries,? he added.
Encouraged by the all in all highly positive market response, SK chemicals is now planning to expand its burgeoning cosmetic division by adding new natural ingredients-based products to its functional skincare portfolio, such as skin whitening products.
